Kinfolk House Fundraiser

August 9, 2025 from 6pm – 8pm

Talley Dunn Gallery

Founded by Letitia Huckaby and Sedrick Huckaby, Kinfolk House is a collaborative project space that inhabits a 100-year-old historic home where community and art converge in the predominantly Black and Latina/e/o neighborhood of Polytechnic in Fort Worth, Texas. Their goal is to uplift the beauty, talent, and culture of the area and feed its creativity by offering exhibitions, events, and educational opportunities. Through partnerships with community-minded creatives and project-based artists, Kinfolk House builds outside the preconceived ideas of “what art is,” exploring the intersections of life, cultural pursuits, and artistry.

Talley Dunn Gallery is thrilled to be launching an event at the gallery with Letitia and Sedrick to raise awareness and support for Kinfolk House. In honor of Sedrick’s grandmother, Big Momma, whose maiden name was Welcome, please save the date of Saturday, August 9th for the Kinfolk House Welcome Party at Talley Dunn Gallery.

At the event, we will. . .

  • Enjoy a cocktail reception while viewing Sedrick Huckaby’s landmark exhibition Higher Ground.
  • Hear remarks from Letitia and Sedrick Huckaby about the founding of Kinfolk House.
  • Get an update on special events, exhibitions, education, and plans for the future.
  • Be joined by artists that have exhibited and performed at Kinfolk House.
  • View the unveiling of the limited edition prints by Letitia and Sedrick Huckaby, available to Big Momma Circle Founders.
  • Join a silent bid auction for an oil painting of Kinfolk House by Sedrick Huckaby, created specifically to benefit Kinfolk House.

View images of the membership prints and the painting to be auctioned below.  100% of all proceeds will benefit Kinfolk House.

Through this event and celebration, we are announcing eight different levels of giving with special access to exhibitions, artists, events, and workshops.  Additionally, BOTH Letitia and Sedrick have created spectacular limited edition works of art that are available for the $500 membership and above. We will have both artworks framed and on view during the party, as well as a spectacular painting by Sedrick of Kinfolk House, which we will auction off to benefit the organization.

Be a part of history and be a Founding Member of the Kinfolk House as you support one of the most important non-profit arts organizations in the country . . . it’s in our own backyard.
