Talley Dunn Gallery is delighted to present a solo exhibition of new works by revered multidisciplinary artist Vicki Meek. I know upon whose shoulders I stand honors seven Orishas who embody female empowerment and seven of Meek’s female ancestors who have influenced her own empowerment, including her own mother. We invite you to join us in celebrating Vicki Meek on Saturday, November 16th with a reception for the artist from 1pm – 5pm, and artist remarks at 4pm.

About Vicki Meek

Vicki Meek is a nationally recognized artist who has exhibited widely and is in the permanent collections of the Fort Wayne Art Museum, Paul Quinn College, Serie Art Project, African American Museum Dallas and Museum of Fine Arts Houston. She was awarded three public arts commissions with Dallas Area Rapid Transit Art Program and was co-artist on the largest public art project in Dallas, the Dallas Convention Center Public Art Project. Meek was selected as the only Dallas artists of ten national artists to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Nasher Sculpture Center which resulted in a permanent site-specific installation at Paul Quinn College. In addition, Meek is an independent curator and cultural critic. She is the 2021 Texas Artist of the Year, the 2023 Meadows Museum Moss/Chumbley awardee and the inaugural Fellow at Nasher Sculpture Center. Vicki Meek is currently working as a full-time artist and is represented by Talley Dunn Gallery in Dallas.
