An Afternoon with Eli Ruhala

December 13, 2025 from 12pm – 2pm

Talley Dunn Gallery

Join us on Saturday, December 13th for an afternoon of engaging viewing and thoughtful conversation with Eli Ruhala. Enjoy a sip-and-see with hors d’oeuvres from 12pm – 2pm and an artist talk at 1pm.

Last month, Ruhala debuted new work for his current exhibition at White Columns in New York City. We invite you to the gallery to view a suite of nine watercolors that serve as the study for his installation in New York, titled Seeking. This series of nine works on paper reveal the artist’s creative practice within his studio as he explores form, movement, and color intended for the larger installation. A key step to the process of creating the monumental work for White Columns, these preparatory watercolors show the development of the composition prior to its final state of completion. On December 13th, Ruhala will discuss the process of creating Second Stage Watercolor (Dissolving) and its relationship to Seeking, as well as his broader artistic practice and more.
